FFO Applauds USOPC's New Policy To Protect Women's Sports
July 23, 2025

The Fair Fencing Organization (FFO) applauds the Trump administration and the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) for taking decisive action to protect the integrity of women’s sports. The new policy, requiring athletes to compete based on their biological sex, is a long-overdue safeguard for fairness, safety, and opportunity in female athletics.
We are deeply relieved on behalf of women fencers and their families who have waited too long for this clarity and justice. This decision sends a powerful message: women's sports are worth protecting.
FFO is proud to have played a key role in persistent advocacy efforts with the Senate, the House, the Department of Justice, the Department of Education, and the White House. These joint efforts have contributed to the promotion of a policy that prioritizes truth, science, and fairness.
We will continue our mission to hold USFA leadership accountable for its past and ongoing failures to uphold these principles. This is a turning point—but not the end of the work.
Fairness matters. Women’s fencing deserves nothing less.
